    Lest the traveler believe that California is all city from its northern border to its southern, there is, among many rural routes, Route 160 -- the River Road. The River Road stretches along the California Delta, a complex system of rivers, channels, and canals, mainly from the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers. The traveler can enjoy the historic delta agricultural areas and quaint small towns along the Sacramento River.
