Isleton is a small river town located on the east side of the Sacramento River. The town typically features a half-dozen restaurants, allowing for a quaint dining stop along the River Road. Isleton's Chinatown offers shops, antique stores, arts and crafts shops, and other interesting businesses. The town also hosts several nearby resorts and marinas.

History and Culture in Isleton

Isleton was founded in 1874. It soon became a regular stop for paddlewheel boats navigating the river, and at one time contained at least five canneries. The river is still a significant influence on the charming river town. Each year the town hosts the Isleton Crawdad Festival (each Father's Day weekend). Additional annual festivals include the Isleton Rodeo in the Spring, and the Chinese New Year's Festival, usually held in February.
