Staunton-Parkersburg Turnpike
Graceland and Halliehurst, WV

These mansions were summer homes of Henry G. Davis and Stephen B. Elkins -- town founders, industrialists, and US Senators. Davis' home was named for his wife Grace, and Halliehurst was named for Elkins’ wife Hallie, who was Davis' daughter. The grounds are now Davis & Elkins College, and the mansions and associated historic buildings are a National Historic Landmark District. Graceland is now an inn and restaurant, and Halliehurst has administrative offices for the college.
