Upshur County Historical Society's History Center Museum, WV

The Upshur County Historical Society's History Center Museum is housed in the former Methodist Episcopal Church South. The church was used to store supplies by Federal troops during the Civil War. During the Jenkins Raid in August 1862, Confederates took Union prisoners, dumped guns down the Court House well, threw food in the street and set it on fire, and looted the town. The museum features changing exhibits on local history.
