Burnt House, WV

The current Burnt House was built in 1859 on the foundations of the original structure, a hotel that burned. Legend states that it was a stop on the Underground Railroad, and that a disgruntled slave woman, who had been a lover of the owner, burnt it down, and died in the inferno. Her ghost lingered there for years. Today it is a private home.
