Seward Highway
Potter Point, AK
Potter Marsh is the first stop beyond Anchorage. This State Game Refuge is home to many waterfowl and birds. Visitors can venture out onto the marsh and observe arctic terns, Canada geese, trumpeter swans, ducks, and even king salmon.
At the east end of Potter Marsh, visitors will find the Potter Section House. This historic home is now the Chugach State Park headquarters, but it was once a home to railroad workers. The site now features historical displays of vintage equiptment and other items and a trailhead to Turnagain Trail.
