Although there are no special trails, the byway does cross the Harrison County Conotton Creek Trail at Scio and Jewett. This trail is 12 miles of an abandoned railroad. You can bike or walk there.

Best Time to Drive

In autumn, the byway is lined with the beautiful colors of oak, maple, and other hardwoods. Spring is also nice when the redbud, dogwood, and serviceberry trees are in bloom.

High Season

The busiest season is a tossup between summer, with many people camping and enjoying Tappan and Clendening Lakes, and Autumn when the trees are at their best.
