During the summer, Highbanks Trail can be accessed from several locations along River Road. Trail-heads are located at Iargo Springs Interpretive Site, 18 miles west of US-23 in Oscoda, Lumberman's Monument, 15 miles west of US-23 in Oscoda, and Cooke Dam Road, 14.5 miles west of US-23 in Oscoda. During the winter, the trail can be easily accessed at Lumberman's Monument Visitor Center.

Restrictions
Highbanks Trail can be accessed year-round. This a favorite trail for cross-country skiers that don't mind breaking their own trail.
