White River Scenic Road
Visitor Services
All activities, including camping along the scenic road or in the reservation, first require a reservation permit. Permits can be purchased in Whiteriver or by calling 520-338-1230.
There are some services available in Whiteriver, including lodging, a restaurant, gift shops, supermarket and movie theater. There are additional services outside the reservation in Show Low, Pinetop and Lakeside.

Special Considerations
There are a few services in Whiteriver, but visitors will want to purchase gas before traveling this scenic route. The highest the elevation gets on the drive is 7,200 feet.
Restrictions
The road itself is paved and well maintained but travelers will
need to use caution on unpaved side roads, especially in the
winter.
