There are no services available on the scenic road so get supplies before heading out. Safford, located north of the road offers regular services. The Mount Graham Market located just before the road also offers gas and supplies.

There are plenty of camping sites along the scenic road, some with restrooms and drinking water. For camping information, call 520-428-4150. There is a Columbine Visitor Center along the route.

There are several hiking trails in Angle Orchard, Ladybug Saddle, Shannon Campground and the Clark Peak Trail.

Special Considerations

Get gas and other supplies before heading out on the scenic road as there are no services along the route itself.

Black bears are common in this area, and it is recommended that food be kept safely locked away in the car or away from people. Visitors need to keep a watchful eye open for the endangered twin-spotted rattlesnake which is also native to the area.

Restrictions

From about Nov. 15 to April 15 the upper portion of road from Hospital Flat and on is closed.
