Kayenta-Monument Valley Scenic Road
Navajo National Monument, AZ

Navajo National Monument preserves three of the most intact 13th-century cliff dwellings of the Puebloan People, whom the Navajo call the Ancient Ones or Anasazi. The monument provides a visitor center with interpretive information, a museum, three short self-guided trails, two small campgrounds, and a picnic area. Two additional trails, which require a guide or a backcountry permit, lead to Anasazi ruins dating from 1250 A.D. and 950 A.D.
