Getting to the Byway
Begin in Ellsworth and take Route 1 east for 4.5 miles. Turn left on Route 182 to Franklin. Scenic vistas over Hog Bay begin in 1.5 miles. From the northeast, follow Route 1 south from Machias for 28 miles to the historic center of Cherryfield.
