Blackwoods Byway
Tunk Lake, ME
Tunk Lake contains some of Maine's clearest water, and it is a popular site for canoeing and kayaking. It is also accessible to small motorboats. The shore is primarily composed of large boulders. The water is cold, but its clarity provides for ideal snorkeling. Remote primitive campsites are available on the Partridge Peninsula on the lake's southwestern end at the foot of Black Mountain.
