Special Considerations
The 2.7-mile long bridge over the Alligator River and Albemarle Sound has an active swing section for boats following the Alligator River, so drivers should be prepared to stop.
Restrictions
Throughout 2001, road construction will be taking place from Mann's Harbor to Manteo.
Travelers may need to pause for river traffic at the bridge over Albemarle Sound.

During the summer months, visitors can enjoy events occuring at Roanoke Island and Fort Raleigh National Historical Site.
