Driving the Byway

Getting to the Byway:

From Uwharrie:

• Begin on N.C. 109 and travel north.
• Turn right on Ophir Road (S.R. 1303)
• Travel five miles along S.R. 1303 until you reach the community of Ophir.

Driving the Byway:

• The byway begins at the community of Ophir on Flint Hill Road (S.R. 1306).
• The entire byway continues along Flint Hill Road.
• After 2.1 miles, there is a shady parking area an trailhead for the Uwharrie National Recreational Trail
• Continue along Flint Hill Road another .2 miles where there is a small turn-off on the left. This turn off leads to "Jumping Off Rock."
• Flint Hill Ramble ends where the road intersects with Lovejoy Road (S.R. 1310).
