Forest Heritage Scenic Byway
John Rock Logging Camp, NC
Over the past 100 years, this was the site of a Black Forest Lodge, a logging camp, a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp, and a Boy Scout camp. Today it is home to a trout fish hatchery and a wildlife education center. A statue commemorating the CCC camp stands in recognition of the site’s history. There are several trails in this area.
