Driving the Byway
The Millbridge Scenic Byway is a 14 mile byway with many side-trips to attractions that provide a sampling of North Carolina piedmont flavor. Following NC 150 out of the historic community of Salisbury, travelers will find the beginning of the byway.
To Drive the Byway:
- Take Sherrills Ford Road (SR 1526) from its intersection with NC 150 in Rowan County.
- Travel SR 1526 for 7.5 miles past the Piedmont Agricultural Research Station and North Carolina farmland.
- Turn left onto White Road (SR 1737) and pass over a one lane bridge. Drive through the community of Millbridge.
- After traveling SR 1737 for 3.2 miles, turn right onto NC 150.
- A side-trip down Sloan Road (SR 1768) will bring visitors to Sloan Park and Kerr Mill.
- Another side-trip down NC 150 will bring visitors to the Lazy 5 Ranch. The drive to the ranch is 6 miles and the drive through the ranch is 3.5 miles.
- Continue on the byway from NC 150 by taking a left onto Millbridge Road (SR 1350).
- The byway continues for another 3 miles through farmland.
- At the intersection with Brown Road (SR 1211), the byway ends and travelers will enter into an area of several "pick-your-own" fruit and vegetable farms.
