Outer Banks Scenic Byway
Frisco Native American Museum, NC
Since opening in 1987, the Frisco Native American Museum has preserved Native American artifacts, art, and culture for current and future generations. The 100-year-old building where the museum is housed was once used as a general store, post office, shell shop, and gathering place. New additions have expanded the display area to better equip the building for its role as a museum.
A nature trail is available for outdoor exploration and a small, indoor observation area overlooks a bird yard. Annually in April, the museum sponsors an Inter-Tribal Powwow and an annual Living History Weekend.
