Outer Banks Scenic Byway
Ocracoke Island, NC
The 12-mile drive from the ferry landing to the village is a beautiful, mostly natural stretch of the Outer Banks. Seven creeks open Pamlico Sound views through wind-sculpted maritime forest and shrub. Island ponies, a National Park Service campground, a soundside nature trail, a life-guarded beach and Springer’s Point Reserve all allow visitors to explore Ocracoke’s natural world. Self-guided exploration is available year-round.
