  • Carl Sandburg Home National Historical Site (NC)

    The 22-room home of the poet and writer Carl Sandburg is surrounded by mountainside woodland areas, ponds, and orchards.

  • Harmon Field

    Harmon Field (NC)

    Created in 1927, Harmon Field is a 34 acre recreational area maintained by the Town of Tryon. The park has a multitude of different uses such as equestrian activities, sports(baseball, softball, tennis & soccer) plus a paved greenway for walking.

    Location:

    30 yards from the Pacolet River Byway on Harmon Field Road, Tryon, NC. 2.4 miles from the NC/SC stateline.

  • Pacolet River

    Pacolet River (NC)

    The Pacolet River Byway follows the scenic Pacolet River for nearly five miles. Along the route approximately 5.1 miles from the South Carolina stateline you can see Melrose Falls on the left hand side traveling west.

    The scenic byway follows the river for approximately 5 miles of the 10 mile route.

  • Pearson's Falls Natural Heritage Site

    Pearson's Falls Natural Heritage Site (NC)

    These beautiful falls are near Saluda.

    From Saluda, drive south on US 176 and turn right onto Pearson Falls Road (SR 1102).

  • Tryon Train Station

    Tryon Train Station (NC)

    The Tryon Train Depot was built in 1906 and later remodeled in the 1950's, Once the center of activity for the area, the depot no longer serves as an active train station.
