Post Rock Scenic Byway
Wilson Czech Opera House, KS
The Wilson Czech Opera House was built in 1901 using the native Post Rock Limestone and served as a social hall. The "House of Memories" museum has famous painted eggs and the side-sod-buster plow that broke the ground to bring the first railroad into Kansas in 1865. The upstairs ballroom is used for stage plays, festivals, queen pageants, wedding celebrations, dances, Christmas programs and dinner theaters.
