Post Rock Scenic Byway
Post Rock Limestone Fenceposts, KS
Along the byway, mainly in the turn outs at each end of the Wilson Lake dam, view the post rock limestone fenceposts for which the byway acquired the name Post Rock Scenic Byway. The post rock fenceposts were quarried from outcroppings of the unique creamy-buff, brownstreaked native rock by the immigrant settlers. The fence lines blend with the landscape. The byway is in the heart of the post rock limestone region.
