Friendship Hill was the country estate of Albert Gallatin, Secretary of the Treasury for Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. Gallatin is most noted for reducing the national debt, purchasing the Louisiana Territory and funding the Lewis & Clark exploration. All of these accomplishments are highlighted at Friendship Hill.
