Gunflint Trail Scenic Byway
Kekekabic Trail Parking Area, MN

The trail is located in the historic Paulson mine site. Note the rolling hills created by glaciers 15,000 - 25,000 years ago. The area was explored for mining of iron ore, silver, and copper in the late 1800s. This trail crosses the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness as a backpacking trail. It traverses rough terrain, so maps, wilderness skills, and physical preparedness are required.
