Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center, WA

Hurricane Ridge offers magnificent views of Olympic National Park. One of Olympic National Park's most scenic areas, view alpine meadows and glacier-clad peaks from Hurricane Ridge. A number of trails begin from this area, and take visitors through the scenic majesty that Hurricane Ridge has to offer. The Visitor Center is located 17 miles from Port Angeles, and is a great way to start off the trip along the byway. The Visitor Center is primarily open in the winter and also functions as a ski lodge. Even if travelers do not want to ski, the Visitor Center offers a gift shop, food concessions, a museum and restrooms. During the off season, visitors may still visit the Center and look at the museum displays, but Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center is only staffed during the winter.
