Franklin Grove, IL
Settled by a handful of people from New York, Franklin Grove started out as a town with a sawmill and several orchards. In the years that followed, a post office, hotel, businesses, and a flour mill were built in Franklin Grove. Near Franklin Grove, visitors will find Franklin Creek State Natural Area. The area contains lush green wetlands and a glimpse at the land in an untouched condition. There visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of Franklin Creek or learn more about the area's history at the Franklin Creek Grist Mill.
