Washington Heritage Trail
Cacapon River, WV
The Cacapon River, a designated West Virginia Wild and Scenic River, winds through the western end of Morgan County. Spectacular views of its crystal clear mountain waters are afforded while driving along SR 9 or by rafting or canoeing the river itself. Along with the Cacapon, smaller streams like Sleepy Creek and Opequon Creek provide ample opportunities to enjoy the Eastern Panhandle's indigenous wildlife, which includes dozens of avian species and freshwater fish.
