General Adam Stephen House, WV

Built in 1774, this house was the home of Major General Adam Stephen who fought in both the French and Indian War as well as the Revolutionary War. General Stephen was born in Scotland and became a surgeon and a soldier. During the Revolutionary War, he became a general after he fought in the Battle of Trenton. His home has been restored and furnished in its original time period.
