Special Considerations
The roads are 16 feet wide and have an 8-inch 'crown' to ensure drainage--so the roads should always be in good condition and easily traveled.
There are cedar signposts at all road intersections that correspond with local guidebooks for easy navigation.
You can rent bikes in town.
An additional 12 miles of carriage road exist on private property. These can usually be accessed by foot.
Restrictions
No motor vehicles are allowed, so the carriage roads are wonderful for walks, hiking, biking, and horse rides.
