Killbuck Marsh, OH

Killbuck Marsh is the largest freshwater wildlife marsh site in the State of Ohio. The 5,492 acres owned by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources are open to the public for hunting, trapping, fishing, bird watching, and hiking. The wildlife area is being maintained to support and attract a variety of different species of wildlife. Northern pike, carp, suckers, and bullheads can be found in Killbuck Creek which flows through the marsh area. Deer, Bobwhite Quail, Ring-necked Pheasant, Wood Duck, and cottontail rabbits can also be found in the area.

A variety of birds, both common and rare species, live within the wildlife area. Most notably, Bald Eagles and Sandhill Cranes use the area for nesting. To see all of these aspects of the Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area, there is also a 3.7-mile wildlife observation trail open to the public.
