  • Charleston

  • Drayton Hall

    Drayton Hall (SC)

    Drayton Hall is the only pre-Revolutionary plantation house remaining on the historic Ashley River Road. This National Historic Landmark is the oldest and the finest surviving example of Georgian Palladian architecture in the South.

  • Fort Bull, Confederate Earthworks (SC)

    Visit Fort Bull, civil war defense which was constructed in 1863. The earthworks are hidden behind the tall trees lining the Ashley River Road.

    The ruins at Middleton Place are all that remains of the 18th Century plantation that encompasses America's oldest landscaped gardens.

  • Springfield Baptist Church

    Springfield Baptist Church (SC)

    This historic church was established in 1863 and was one of the first freely organized Black Baptist congregations in the area.

  • St. Andrew's Episcopal Church

    St. Andrew's Episcopal Church (SC)

    This is the oldest surviving church in the Carolinas and was founded and built in 1706. Located in the churchyard there are some historic tombs.
