The Energy Loop: Huntington/Eccles Canyons Scenic Byway
Huntington Power Plant, UT

As the next step for the coal procured from the coal mining in the area, the Huntington Power Plant is another reason The Energy Loop: Huntington/Eccles Canyons Scenic Byway has its name. The plant burns the coal from the mines and uses water from Huntington Creek to make steam. The high-pressure steam is then channeled through huge turbines which power generators creating electricity. The Huntington Power Plant is a culmination of all the resources that can be found and used on The Energy Loop: Huntington/Eccles Canyons Scenic Byway.
