West Cascades Scenic Byway
Westfir, OR

A former lumber town, this community is located near Oakridge, on the southern end of the West Cascades Scenic Byway. The first excavation of the town was construction of the mill in 1922. This old mill remains in operation on its original site. The Westfir Covered Bridge, originally built in 1944, connected the Westfir Lumber Company to the main office. Today, the office is the Westfir Lodge Bed and Breakfast, which still contains the original vault.
