Driving the Byway

This route travels around Lake Winnipesaukee and sometimes follows lots of tiny little jogs of roads; this can be confusing, so we've only listed the cities that the route goes through. It is easier to follow the byway this way. You will have no trouble because the byway is well-developed; you can traverse it by just following the signs.

Driving clockwise: * Starts in Alton * Alton Bay * Gilford * Weirs Beach * Meredith * Holderness * Center Harbor * Moultonborough * Ends back in Alton

Note: for a less traveled route, take NH 25B from Meredith east to Center Harbor. This route winds through the hills north of Winnipesaukee and is a less traveled alternative to Route 25.
