Lincoln Highway Scenic & Historic Byway
Lincoln Highway, NE

The Lincoln Highway was the first transcontinental highway that stretched from Times Square at Broadway and 42nd street to Lincoln Park in San Francisco. It was begun in 1913, and eventually traveled through 11 states. In Nebraska, the route followed the Platte River and Highway 30 today parallels the route of the Lincoln Highway. It also followed the railroad tracks, and was another chapter in the way transportation changed the lives of people in Nebraska, and also in the United States.
