Special Considerations
The route has an 800-foot rise in both directions. The trail climbing into or out of White Pine Canyon consists of switchbacks crossing through a shady pine forest.
Travelers will need to ford a few small streams in summer, and there are a few spots where the trail may be flooded and muddy in spring. White Pine Creek itself is crossed on a sturdy wooden bridge.
