Ogden River Scenic Byway
Abbey of Our Lady of the Holy Trinity, UT
Since 1947 the Abbey of Our Lady of the Holy Trinity Monastery has followed the tradition dating back to 300 AD or so of solitary, simple living focused on matters of spirituality. These monks follow the Trappist-Cistercian order and have made life-long vows of prayer and hard work in the scenic valley of Huntsville.
Visitors and prospective monks are welcome to tour the monastery and a gift shop provides creamed honey in a variety of flavors as well as homemade wooden bowls and religious items. The contrast between the simple life in the Abbey and the frantic nature of the world outside of it can be refreshing and satisfying, the honey is delicious, and the scenery is just as tranquil and gorgeous as you'd expect.
