Provo Canyon Scenic Byway
Provo, UT

Brigham Young founded Provo in the Spring of 1849. In April, it began as a fort, three miles east of Utah Lake. In 1850, the settlers moved east towards higher ground and homes were built. Provo City is now thriving with many businesses and attractions.

Nestled up against the mountains, near canyons, rivers, and Utah Lake, Provo also offers the chance to explore the outdoors through river rafting, mountain biking, hiking, snow skiing, water skiing, and rock climbing. After straining your body for a period, relax your weary muscles by tasting new delicacies at one of the many restaurants -- from Indian cuisine, to home-style steak. Relax and rejuvenate yourself by visiting the many museums, art galleries, theaters, water parks, and shops that are scattered around the city. Pleasurable sightseeing also includes Brigham Young University, host to arts and cultural museums, natural history and science museums, events, concerts, and conferences.
