Flaming Gorge-Uintas National Scenic Byway
Steinaker State Park, UT

Steinaker State Park is a desert oasis in the heart of Dinosaurland. Visitors come to fish, water-ski, camp, picnic, or relax on the beach. At an elevation of 5,520 feet, the park is located seven miles north of Vernal, Utah, off U.S. 191. When full, Steinaker Reservoir covers 780 square acres and is 130 feet deep in spots. Steinaker is a good base camp to explore the attractions of Dinosaurland. Within a short driving distance are Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Ashley National Forest, Dinosaur National Monument, Red Fleet and Utah Field House of Natural History state parks, and the Green River.
