Flaming Gorge-Uintas National Scenic Byway
Ute Tower Historic Site, UT
The Ute Tower Historic Site is managed as both a working fire lookout tower and an interpretive site. The tower was the first built in the State of Utah and is the last operating in the state. The tower also offers a panoramic view of the Flaming Gorge area and northeastern Uinta Mountains.

To the west of the loop SR-44 makes on the boundary of the Flaming Gorge National Recreational Area and Ashley National Forest. Follow a dirt road west to the Ute Tower.
