Nebo Loop Scenic Byway
Bicycle/Pedestrian Facilities

This byway is a popular destination for both road and mountain bikers. The route offers 214 miles of paved and dirt roads, 103 miles of trails, and 71,270 acres of roadless areas for visitors to enjoy. Although a formal bicycle lane has not been designated, cyclists frequently ride the 37-mile loop road. Also, 11 trailheads/pullouts allow mountain bikers to access the 103 miles of trails that are fully suitable for mountain biking in the surrounding national forest.

Currently, there are no bicycle lanes or parallel paths, and the shoulder isn't very wide in most places. During the annual bike races that are held in this area, sheriff escorts ensure that the cyclists have adequate room to ride.

Pedestrian pathways are not part of the current byway system because the majority of destinations do not require that pedestrians cross the road, and also because the shoulders aren't very wide in most areas.
