Special Considerations

Summer temperatures often top 100 F. Rangers recommend visiting the park in morning or late afternoon, when the temperatures are more moderate and the crowds are smaller, or visit the park in winter, spring or fall for an entirely different experience.

Some of the hiking trails within the park may be strenuous and require sturdy hiking boots or shoes.
