Indian Creek Corridor Scenic Byway
Visitor Services

The town of Monticello and the Needles District of Canyonland National Park are two of the few places in this remote area with water and other facilities. (Newspaper Rock itself does have latrines but no water.) The Canyonlands Visitor Center (with latrines, phones, parking, and information) is about 10 miles from the northwest end of the byway. Monticello, a small community at 7000 feet above sea level, offers a welcome cool break from the summer heat and is about 15 miles south of the byway's junction with Hwy 191. It has restaurants, gasoline, lodging, shopping, automotive services, and more.
