Canyon Overlook Trailhead (UT)
This easy, 1-mile (round-trip), self-guided trail is mostly fenced with some long dropoffs and startling views. It ends at a spectacular view of lower Zion Canyon and Pine Creek Canyon. Guidebooks are available at the visitor center and trailhead.

This odd formation is formed from
petrifiedsandstone on which wind and weather have worn checkered patterns in the surface. -
This strenuous, 11.6 (one-way) backcountry trail has long dropoffs and climbs Echo Canyon up to the forested top of the rim and continues to SR-9 at the East Entrance of the Park. It provides access to Observation Point and to Deertrap and Cable Mountain.

Travel part of the way on the Smithsonian Butte Scenic Backway from Rockville to reach this ghost town, the filming site of several movies (ask Zion Canyon rangers for details).

Local lore has it that this small city (pronounced "Hurrikun"), was named after a whirlwind, which snapped the top off a settler's buggy and caused him to exclaim, "Well, that was a hurricane!"

Visitors to Zion Park will find camping and RV facilities at this private park, as well as a gasoline station and restaurant nearby.

This park provides excellent year-round camping, picnicking, boating and trout and bass fishing in sunny southwest Utah.
