Inside the Red Rock Visitor Center, they have displays explaining the geology, history, plant and animal life, archaeology, and recreational opportunities. The byway is so close to the city of Las Vegas that visitor services are classified as "full service."

There really isn't a prime season for driving this byway. Sunshine and good weather are typical for this corner of the state. The roadway and views can be enjoyed at any time of the year.
