Payette River Scenic Byway
Thunder Mountain Train Ride and Horseshoe Bend, ID
The Thunder Mountain historic Train Ride between Horseshoe Bend and Banks provides a unique opportunity to "ride the rails." Nestled among rolling hills and the Payette River, the town of Horseshoe Bend was originally settled by miners. The train ride travels through the shortest solid rock tunnel in North America and under rainbow bridge to Smith's Ferry and back again. The Wild West ride includes reenactors who interact with the riders.
