Stop by any Boise National Forest office along the way for an auto tape tour of the route. In Boise, there are year-round horse-drawn carriage rides, an excellent zoo, 12 golf courses and 55 parks, including the Kathryn Albertson Wildlife Park. Lucky Peak Reservoir offers great water-skiing a few miles east of town. And Bogus Basin Ski Resort, with 2,000 acres and 43 runs, is just 16 miles away.

	Gasoline Gas stations are offered in several towns along the byway, including Stanley, Lowman, Boise, and Idaho City.		Information Stanley offers visitor information for the surrounding areas and the byway.
	Lodging Lodging is provided in Boise and Stanley.		Retail Boise and Stanley have abundant shopping opportunities.

Special Considerations

There is usually a snow-floor north of Lowman during winter. Severe avalanche conditions may exist in the Banner Summit area and closures can be frequent. Check conditions before traveling in winter.

Restrictions

The road is narrow, winding, and has some steep grades. It is a two-lane road with some passing lanes.
