The Santa Clara Pueblo people believe their ancestors first lived in the nearby Puye Cliff Dwellings, including Top House, a ruined mesa top village built along a stunning cliff face in Santa Clara Canyon. Both guided and self-guided tours are available. Santa Clara Pueblo is noted for its pottery, such as red ware, carved black ware, melon bowls, polychrome and other artistic mediums.
