The park provides opportunities for outdoor recreation, camping, and educational opportiunites regarding local history. The park provides a boat launch as well as fishing, canoeing, and boating opportunities.
Short hiking trails take visitors close-up to the distinctive wildlife of cypress swamps and bayous.
There are 50 campsites, a primitive group campsite, and 18 waterfront cabins with fishing piers.
