Located between New Iberia and St. Martinville is 30-acre Belmont Campgrounds. It offers 200 campsites, large pavilion rental, barbecue pits, a nature trail, fishing, playground, dump station, bathroom facilities and paddleboat.

A vast strip of wild woodlands in Breaux Bridge, the Atchafalaya Basin is inhabited by thousands of different species of animals and plants. Tours of the Basin are available through several companies, including McGee’s Landing in Henderson (318-228-8519), Angelle’s Atchafalaya Boat Tours in Henderson (318-228-8567), Pelican Aviation in New Iberia (318-367-1401), and Airboat Tours in Loreauville (318-229-4457).
